| Winewriter Paul White recently tasted the new release of SCHUBERT's 2006 CABERNET SAUVIGNON / MERLOT: |

Red fruit/red currant aromas and flavors, extended with lovely gamey undertones alongside cedar and dried herb high notes. Palate is rounded and smooth with excellent concentration, nicely balanced acids to fruit. Well integrated tannins for such a young wine. Impressive wine that's drinking beautifully now, more Margaux like given its florals. I like this sort of lighter, finer linear style, that's more feminine than brutish. Given my experience with similarly styled Hawkes Bay and Martinborough Bordeaux blends my expectations are this wine should easily age a decade or more. |
