CLIMATIC CONDITIONS:
Mild winter and warm spring resulting in early bud-burst, leading into a cooler than usual summer, followed by an early autumn.
DATE OF HARVEST: 22nd April 2014
HARVEST & VINIFICATION: Hand-picked and 100% de-stemmed. Fermentation in stainless steel vats and maceration for 3 weeks. Aged in 35% new and 65% used French Oak barriques for 4 years.
DATE OF BOTTLING: 15th February 2018
ALC: 14.0% VOL
TASTING NOTES:
An intriguing combination of tabacco, freshly ground pepper, aromatics of ripe strawberry, plum and cherry meeting notes of chillie chocolate, wild thyme and poppy seeds. Long, lingering but at the same time soft tannins across the palate and earthy characters build complexity, combined with spiciness and vibrant acidity.
