Pinot Noir Marion's Vineyard

2003 Ruby garnet colour slightly aged with orange rim. Ripe raspberries, plums and sweet cherries with a touch of spice and smoky bacon. A sweet fruit entrance leading into a powerful body with smoky oak, leather and savoury, gamy undertones. Chewy tannins and long finish with a surprisingly lively acidity. Cellaring potential 2-3 years.
2004 Garnet colour with an earthy mineral nose and a touch of fruit spice. A lovely ripe round entrance reminiscent of molasses, cloves and liquorice with hints of leather. A long lingering finish and refined tannins. Cellaring potential 2 - 3 years.
2005 On the nose lifted red fruits with hints of black tea, rosewood and gamey aromas. Ripe red fruits with earthy tones of truffles and oak on the entrance, leading to a core of spice, leather and hints of cigars. Fine tannins lead to balanced acidity and spice for a long lasting finish. Cellaring potential 2 - 3 years.
2006 Beautiful ruby in colour with lifted red fruits, savoury herbs and earthy aromas. An inviting entrance of elegant flowers, ripe plums through to dried herbs with earthy tones. Smooth body showing cloves spiciness along with savoury and leathery notes. Integrated fine mineral tannins for long lingering finish. Cellaring potential 5 – 7 years.
2007 A fresh and clean nose is characterised by ripe plums and cherries, hints of cloves with herbal notes. A ripe fruit forward entrance, notes of spice and acacia with big tannins and a lingering mineral background. Cellaring potential 6- 8 years.
2008 Dark in colour with ripe dark fruit, luscious plums with floral notes and spice. A luscious entrance on the palate with a prevalence of round sweet red fruit, bound by ripe tannins, showing great depth and balance. Cellaring potential 6 – 8 years.
2009 Wild strawberries and cherries with a savoury undertone of wild thyme, smoked beef and mineral notes. The sweet ripe entrance is followed by cigars and leather, lingering oak with cinnamon spice and elegant tannins to compliment the finish. Cellaring potential 4 -5 years.
2010 Dark intense colour. Sweet rich fruit, dark cherries and spice with aromas of truffles and herbs with a mineral edge. Elegant entrance of blackberries and plums with firm tannins of leather and spice with a long full finish. Showing a great aging potential. Cellaring potential 6 – 8 years.
2011 Alluring smoky mineral notes on the nose leading into sweet ripe fruit on the palate. Notes of cinnamon reveal a core of earthy and mineral tannins with a lingering floral finish. Showing great structure for long and promising life ahead. Cellaring potential 10 years.
2012 Clean and fresh nose of dark fruits with spice and leather. On the palate an array of spices with rata flowers a hint of game and cigars with elegant tannins. Approachable with fine tannins for a long life. Great acidity and balance showing great cellaring potential. Cellaring potential 10 years.
